One Day Workshops

Lots of news to share:

I just held my first workshop at my studio in Marshallton, PA. It was a great experience and a lot of fun. With just two attendees it was really neat to be able to give each person in-depth, individual attention. The small numbers made it easy for the students to have hands-on experience with the lighting equipment while using their their own cameras and computers. By the end of the day they were both very comfortable with the whole process and I was able to help them with their individual questions.

If you want a taste of what we covered in the one-day workshop, consider taking the short, introductory jewelry photography class at Bead Fest Philadelphia coming up in August. I am also offering a new one about advanced techniques. Be aware, they do fill up fast.

I have added two webinars to the Interweave Bookstore. The first webinar on how to optimize your images with Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and Elements 11 was the inaugural webinar for Interweave, and it was quite a success. Here’s a link for my webinars and DVDs at the interweave store:

I’ve recently joined the Pennsylvania Craft Guild. They have a wonderful facility in the heart of Lancaster and I hope to become more involved with them in the near future.

So “stay tuned” as there’s a lot more to come in next month’s blog including an announcement about the dates for upcoming full-day workshops in September and October.

And a lot has happened in the meantime. I have continued teaching workshops at Bead Fest, Philadelphia and I am adding a new workshop on advanced techniques at the upcoming Bead Fest in August. I have also created three new DVDs on photographing jewelry which you can find at the Interweave Store, and they are also available as digital downloads. In addition I also have a Webinar available on how to optimize your images with Lightroom and Adobe Camera Raw found in Photoshop and  Elements. A second one on using Selections in Elements  & Photoshop is on the way.

I will be offering a one-day workshop on photographing jewelry at my new studio in West Chester (Marshalton), PA. The size is limited to four people per workshop. Bring your own camera, tripod, jewelry, and laptop if you have one. The cost for this one-day workshop will be $200 per person. The first scheduled date for this workshop is Saturday, July 20.

I’m sure you will have questions, so please email me or call me directly and I will be happy to talk with you. Enjoy your summer.

More workshops offered

My first workshops on photographing your own jewelry at the last Bead Fest were very successful. I did three sessions in one day, it was quite an experience but a very enjoyable one.  My next workshops will be at Bead Fest Wire next April, check out my workshop page. I received some very constructive comments and suggestions on my last workshop.  I would appreciate any additional thoughts or comments. I have also, photographed Susan Phillip’s jewelry for her Jewelry Showcase page and her new website. In addition I’ve created a series of jury slides and  images for Leav Bolander.  When their sites are completely updated I will post them.

Getting Ready

Well, it seems like I’m always getting ready for something. So this Summer I am getting ready to teach a workshop on Jewelry Photography for Jewelry Artists at the Philadelphia Bead Fest in August. I am also getting inquiries from artists who want to publish in the Jewelry Showcase for next year and all in all it’s turning into a  busy summer.
